Many many years ago, while sipping their drinks and having fun in the loudest and oldest bars of Barcelona, people used to put over their glasses a piece of bread or “jamón”, to avoid flies to get into their wine. They were used to cover (“tapar”) the drink. This is the origin of the word “tapa”, one of the most famous Spanish traditions and a must try food in Barcelona.

This city will have you at hello. And it’s not just because of the magnificent modernist Gaudí’s buildings, its breathtaking views from Montjuic’s Castle, Parc Guell, Bunkers or Tibidabo, its warm weather and people, the colorful Boqueria market. Barcelona is not just an amazing list of top attractions to see, things to do, places to visit. This city is magical.
